On the first day, a lot of tram enthusiasts (me included) and first-time leisure riders on the way and that is not representative. But also many people, who needs this route, directly or by transfer: the transport network (buses) is reviewed and this is the main axle of transport now, in the city center, to the main station and along important places like the Place St. Lambert.
The problem is that this is an Y route and both terminuses in the north are very busy, with 50 % of the frequency. I didn't expect many passengers on the Expo branche, but I was wrong, because some buses ends here. And the same on Coronmeuse, but in both cases, the frequency is just +/- 12 - 15 minutes. In the city center, as the photo above, trams run very frequently (6 - 8 minutes).
I didn't saw the 5101 on line that day.
I just can recommend everyone to visit this system: it's worth every penny.

I'm not going to accept bets because there is still some margin: festivities for the public will take place on 10 May 2025.
Wait and see. 28 April would be perfect for me personally...
10 May would be not special, just celebrating the end of the works with music (and beer...).

The problem in Liège is exactly the same as in Antwerp. Not coincidentally: the trams come from the same factory.
They are delivered randomly and therefore not in numerical order.
Moreover, in Antwerp, deliveries take place during the night.
In the beginning (with the first ones), there are still local enthusiasts who are present, but afterwards the interest gradually fades.
Official data doesn't exist, or is not shared, or simply kept secret.
For both Antwerp and Liège, one can reasonably assume that all, or most of the trams, have been delivered, but precisely this difference makes it impossible to keep the database correctly updated without guessing.

This was exactly my suspicion, especially since 5101 is the very first number in the fleet (but curiously not the first tram that was delivered). Let's see if the number '1' will be used for presentation purposes through the opening ceremonies.

What is known about 5102-5106? The fleet roster is incomplete.

I found in a magazine a photo of this tram (on a test run) with remark "1 aka 5101". I merge both profiles.

Надо понимать, это будет одна из последних в Западной Европе (не считая Скандинавии) трамвайных систем, построенных с нуля в рамках "трамвайного ренессансса" за последние ~45 лет, да?

Потому что кроме Скандинавии (где трамвай собираются строить в Уппсале и Турку), построенного но не открытого Хаэна в Испании и заглохшего (отменённого??) Маастрихта, я больше проектируемых/строящихся систем и не знаю.

А как у него происходило всё: какие колёса были ведущими?
И при движении у задних (на данный момент) колёс блокировалось рулевое управление?

The story here is more complicated.
The Ministry of Transport at the time, with tons of money, built new roads and tram tunnels everywhere in the 1970s.
In both Charleroi and Antwerp, the last tunnels built at the time will hopefully be in service around 2027.
The Belgian industry was then partly subsidised by a variety of ministries, with the design of new vehicles for export being a particular objective.
In this particular case, it was about building automatic subways of a smaller size: this didn't exist then. A test track was therefore built in Jumet (near Charleroi) for this purpose. The factory (ACEC) was sold to Alstom in France. Alstom was working on exactly the same project; testing and further building prototypes in Belgium was no longer necessary.
Actually, it was never proven that the tunnels in Liège would ever be put into service. The vehicles were built as an experiment, with indeed a possible deployment in Liege, although there is no evidence about that either.
Should Charleroi possess a transport or industrial museum, the vehicle would certainly be in its place there. Of course: no problem that it's in Liège (just as the tram from Aachen) but it's really not proved that this metro was built for Liège.

The tram was delivered with the complete number.
You can check all the press releases (letram.be): no mention about the first tram (as 1). Let's see if this tram will run on tests or by the opening with this number. BTW: I don't think you could see every side (incl. inside) of this tram.

The question is whether to list such mockups in the database. I am for one, would prefer to see it in the database with an appropriate remark.
