Orange line is completely in service every 30 minutes, green line from old ironsides to civic center every 30 minutes, and the bus bridge Milpitas-San Antoni every 30 minutes maintained. Mass shooting at the light rail yard. 9 killed, and service suspended during the criminal investigation. Bus bridges operate until May 31st and are suspended as of June 1st. Regular bus service is partially operated by nearby bus agencies, to allow time off for VTA operators. These spots are gradually given back to VTA.

BART opens the Milpitas and Berryessa stations in the northeast of the county. Milpitas has connecting light rail service on the Orange line. Route 500 bus service between Berryessa and Diridon stations operates, and will eventually be eliminated when BART service is extended to downtown san jose

Light rail service reopens with no fares, half the frequency (every 30 minutes instead of 15) only on weekdays. Service is added back much later on.

Light Rail service suspended due to a positive covid test from one of the operators. Last day of service was march 25th. No bus bridges are operated. No fares collected on the entire bus network starting march 30th.

New Transit Service Plan is implemented. Almaden shuttle abandoned due to low ridership, with the last day of service December 27th. The rest of the network is overhauled with three routes: Blue (Santa Teresa-Baypointe), Green (Old Ironsides-Winchester), Orange (Mountain View-Alum Rock). Often in signage just the letter B G O is shown. Express trains to South San Jose were terminated several months prior, as part of the same planning initiative. The entire bus network was overhauled on the same day, to better complement the light rail system and anticipated BART extension.

I880/Milpitas station is renamed Alder station, and Montague station is renamed Milpitas station in order to match the name of the BART station in milpitas and reduce confusion.

Construction begins on the CalMod electrification program. Service is planned to operate much more frequently when the diesel trains are replaced by electric ones; service will be delivered by overhead wires.

Tasman West extension begins service from Old Ironsides to Downtown Mountain view. The extension also includes Baypointe station, which functions as a new transfer point east of the original line. Service is operated on three lines: Santa Teresa-Baypointe, Almaden-Ohlone Chynoweth, Mountain View-Baypointe. A few trains on the Almaden spur have direct service to downtown San Jose in the mornings and evenings.

Last day of service for the San Jose Railroads. Rails are removed over the next two years along with the electrical trolley wire. Bus service operated by San Jose Railroads sold in 1939 to San Jose City Lines/National City Lines.

Peninsular Railway ends interurban service. Some cars transferred to San Jose Railroads along with the Bascome local service in San Jose, and possibly the naglee local service.

The western track on the mayfield cut off is removed in 1935 (Tracks, Tires, and Wires by Charles McCaleb)

Peninsular Railway forced to relinquish its Palo Alto trackage due to a repaving project on El Camino by the city of Palo Alto. The main route is cut back to Mayfield (today's California Avenue).

It created the new lines 1-9 we are familiar with in the description of the 1924 map. Already a couple lines (10 and 11) were buses, due to closures on lines damaged during the San Francisco earthquake of 1906.

The San Jose & Santa Clara County Railway is merged into the San Jose Railroads, ending the duopoly between the two companies (1882-1912) and forming a street railway monopoly in the town of San Jose.

From the years 1882-1894 the San Jose Railroads was called the People's Horse Railroad Co.
From 1896-1905 there was a third company, the Alum Rock Railway Co. which was merged into the San Jose and Santa Clara County Railway. (Possibly due to the San Francisco Earthquake?)
