Musée des Transports

Vehicles of Liége's projected automatic metro system TAU — built in the beginning of the 80es, tested in Jumet near to Charleroi. However, the construction of the metro has never started, and the vehicles were put immediately into the museum.

It was never the intention to build an automatic subway in Charleroi.
However, ACEC designed and tested its own automatic metro in Jumet.
When Alstom took over ACEC, Alstom decided to further commercialise their own vehicle (VAL, see also Lille). This made the ACEC vehicle superfluous for Alstom.
