Decent attention to detail, congrats. Often, people do not notice the second one and shamelessly cut the regular one in order to repost the photo. What's even more shameful is that some official accounts of transport companies used my pictures sometimes with this method...

It seems like route 103 is the main line for new BKM? In internet I have seen some pictures with new trolleybuses, they always operated on route 103. Is it so?

The new BKM trolleybuses operate on all lines, including 101 and 108 sometimes. Some vehicles operate solely on selected lines (n°56 on line 102 and n°60 on line 107 for example). Route 103 has the most BKMs as it also has the most vehicles, in addition to usually around 1 to 3 Swiss trolleybuses.

An excellent photo, TramBusAl. Many thanks.

My sincere condolences that Sarajevo went with BKM trolleybuses. Based on many previous experiences with this manufacturer's products and product management, these trolleybuses will not last for long. I project that in a few years Sarajevo will have a crisis with rolling stock availability, the same as the recent crisis in Belgrade.

Some carriers never learn Rule Number One in transit procurement and operations: You get what you pay for. You never save in the long run, especially on quality. Save today - pay tomorrow.

Citizens are mostly satisfied by these vehicles, as they mark a significant progress and investment in public transport after decades of relative neglect, although they have quickly earned the not necessarily positive nicknames of "bijeloruske" and "lukašenke" among Sarajevans and local enthusiasts.

From a passenger's point of view, comfort is the same as in any other new low-floor vehicle and the ride is generally smooth, regardless of the state of Sarajevo's roads. The interior does seem simplistic and low-cost, but it is fairly negligible if your task is to get from point A to point B. They are equipped with information screens and vocal announcements, which work well but are hardly heard when the heating is on for example.

From a driver's point of view, these vehicles are not great for driving during longer periods and their closed cabin makes it harder for ticket checking upon boarding the trolleybus. As the overhead lines in the city have little to no flexible suspension, the sensitive trolley poles of these vehicles often tend to jump out of the wires, which leads to increased usage of the batteries (drivers usually only put the poles back on the overhead at the terminus).

From a technical aspect, these trolleybuses do have significantly more sensitive electronics on them and are therefore prone to more diverse malfunctions and breakdowns, but there have not been many of them so far.

Replying to Yury, GRAS had no role in choosing the vehicles (in fact, they weren't even destined to GRAS, but to a new company which was supposed to be created in 2022, hence the unusual vehicle numbers) - everything had be done through the Sarajevo Canton transport ministry and the EBRD, which wholly financed the acquisition through a loan. A first tender had already failed, so BKM won at the second attempt (they did not register for the first at all).

So far, the introduction into service of these vehicles has not resolved the chronic infrequency of the trolleybus lines - in fact, exactly the same number of vehicles are in daily service as two years ago. The company is now having a shortage of drivers and is slowly resolving the issue.

Are lines 101 and 108 even operating at all? I have seen only lines 102, 103 and 107 there.

It depends. During the last couple of days, line 108 was not operating - it was written on an A4 paper on ticket offices at Otoka and Dobrinja ("Dobrinja ne radi" and "Otoka ne radi" respectively). That's the most you can get in terms of passenger information.
Line 101 has only 2-3 services in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon. Now, when this route doesn't operate, there's no prior information at all, it's up to the passengers to see it for themselves.
