At the time of the visit to Kolkata only Routes 5, 24/29 and 25 remained in operation. The tram operator had recently renovated infrastructure via Routes 11 and 12 in anticipation of reopening of service on these routes. However, both Routes 11 and 12 remain closed by order of Kolkata's traffic police.

The Rajabazar Depot at the end of Route 12 remained dormant, full of cars in condition ranging from semi-operable to outright discarded. I visited all the Depots in Kolkata - and the scenery was the same at every facility: hundreds of discarded trams...

На момент визита в городе работали только маршруты 5, 24/29 и 25. Трамвайная компания недавно отремонтировала инфраструктуру маршрутов 11 и 12 в предверии возобновления движения. Однако маршруты 11 и 12 оставались закрытыми по предписанию дорожной полиции Калькутты.

Депо Rajabazar в конце 12-го маршрута оставалось бездействующим, и было заполнено вагонами в состоянии от полурабочего до заброшенного. Посетил все депо Калькутты, и картина была одинаковой по всему хозяйству: сотни заброшенных трамваев...
