This type of locomotive never served in Belgium but did cross the border (from France), running freight trains. So the picture is not as imaginative as it seems, especially as the place of shooting is not that far from France.

This is not only a very old vehicle (the 73rd of the many thousands the company once owned) but also the very first museum tram. This tram was already given the status of museum tram in 1935, for the then anniversary of 50 years of S.N.C.V./N.M.V.B. In the same year, the tram was also presented as such during the World Exhibition.

Lots of motorists wanted to park there — ranging from a clerk to cemetery visitors — but they were all kind enough to park out of the frame. The opposite happened with this car: here the driver was explicitly asked to park in the frame!

It was 58 years before this tram could once again show what it was capable of. After its last regular run on 05/09/1964, this tram has always been preserved in running order and occasionally performs demonstration runs over a few metres at the Museum of Luxembourg.
