The target of the day was to photograph this tram, which had recently been transferred from Antwerp. It came from Knokke and ran a full service. The tram had fallen so far behind schedule (by more than a quarter of an hour) that it was decided to end the journey in Ostend rather than continue onwards to De Panne. Passengers on the tram were directed to the next tram (which passed two minutes later), whilst the scheduled service (a quarter of an hour earlier) had already been operated by another tram that had come from the depot.

This tram is an ‘evergreen’ that is brought over from Antwerp almost every year. Shortly after its transfer, it was already being used across the entire line, and not just on additional services.

The former loop in Oostende. The Antwerp and Ghent trams were given a temporary numbering in the first years (for this tram: 6052). This was only applied for a few seasons. Both numbers are visible on the tram.
