Tramway Lines and Infrastructure

De Burbure

This section of the line was once a privately operated as an electrified urban railway. Many years after its closure, the route was repurposed for this tram line. A former station still reveals its past. The original name was Wezenbeek; today it is known as De Burbure.

De Burbure

Thirty-six years later, a lot of bushes, trees and a whole load of fences have sprung up, making it impossible to photograph a tram alongside the former station building.
However, the building has been beautifully restored.

Station Arts-Loi — Kunst-Wet

This tunnel was temporarily used by standard trams. The conversion work, to enable full metro operations, was in progress at the time.
An interesting photo showing the conversion from a pre-metro system to a full metro system.
