Third Avenue
A variety of locomotive power is on display at Third Avenue and Ninth Street: horse-drawn vehicles wait for the recently-electrified Third Avenue streetcar to clear the way under the elevated tracks, along which runs a steam-powered engine. A billboard at left advertises Viola Allen's performance in the 1902 Broadway revival of Sheridan Knowles' melodrama "The Hunchback."
