The Calgary Light Rail system was opened 25.05.1981. It is one of the three earliest newly-designed North American systems - the other two are Edmonton (opened 22.04.1978), and San Diego opened (26.07.1981). All three systems employed the same rolling stock - off-the-shelf German-built U2 cars, mostly used as U-bahn metro cars in Germany. Later on orders by North American Light Rail systems would usually assume vehicles of individual custom designs for each city.

At the time of this photo the Fish Creek–Lacombe Station was the southern terminal of the Red Line (201). The station is brand new, opened a year earlier in 2001. The line will be extended further south in 2004. The Light Rail line follows the original railway alignment. The design of the station is to convey the former design of the historic Midnapore train station that previously existed in the area.

На момент съёмки станция Fish Creek–Lacombe была конечной остановкой Красной линии (маршрут 201). Станция совсем новая, открыта годом раньше в 2001 г. Линия будет продлена далее на юг в 2004 г. Линия СТ была построена по коридору бывшей ж.д. линии. Здание станции cпроектировано по мотивам исторической станции Midnapore, которая ранее существовала в этом районе.
