200 West

The only 4-car train I have seen running. I didn't expect this: 3 vehicles was the maximum, but apparently 1 larger composition was driving around temporarily. This is probably 1 ride during peak hours. I would also have preferred to photograph the entire composition in the sun, but not only was it already quite late, but as I said, I did not expect this.

Very interesting. Most likely an in-service 'delivery' of an extra car to/from the terminal. This is sometimes practiced by some light rail carriers in the US. For instance, in Sacramento and Phoenix. However, considering the location of this photo and the time of the day it was shot, so far I was unable to discern the logic behind this move. However, the theory is further supported by these photos:

Photos of 4-car trains in regular service on regular basis were possible only in Sacramento in the early 2000s.

Moreover, Sacramento was a site of a longest consist I ever observed, a 7-car train of cars shuttled between the terminal and the depot, unfortunately, not in revenue service )

These are clearly exceptional opportunities to take special photos.

I haven't managed it yet (I think) but there are some special photos in collections, like this one. Just 5 vehicles, but also ok...

When did they start running four and five car trains in Edmonton? The oldest photo I've found here on the site dates back to 2011: https://transphoto.org/photo/443947/ , but I don't know if this was the case before then.
