С октября 2022 центральный участок линии U2 был закрыт для сквозного проезда поездов. Всему виной возведение высотного здания на Alexanderplatz, которое привело к просадке одного из тоннелей. На перегоне Klosterstraße - Senefelderplatz (через Alexanderplatz) было организовано челночное сообщение.

28 августа 2023 после завершения ремонтных работ сквозное движение было восстановлено.

Since October 2022, the central part of the U2 line has been closed due to the construction of a skyscraper on Alexanderplatz, which led to the drawdown of one of the tunnels. A shuttle service was organized between Klosterstraße and Senefelderplatz (via Alexanderplatz).

On the 28th of August 2023, after the completion of repair work, services of U2 through the central section were reopened.
