Due to long lines with many station and dense service frequency, the service on the Seoul metro can be operated 'as is'. On a common segment of track between the Metro Line 4 and the Suin–Bundang Line the issue of priority is resolved with passenger service in mind. In the westbound direction of travel, the Metro Line 4 trains have the priority. This way trains end up in-front of the suburban trains of the Suin–Bundang Line, providing for a convenient transfer for passengers who travel farther down the line to Incheon. Mirror image, in the eastbound direction of travel, the Suin–Bundang Line trains have the priority. This way trains end up in-front of the Metro Line 4 trains, providing for a convenient transfer for passengers who travel from Incheon toward Seoul.
