Die Straßenbahn in Sarajevo wurde in den vergangenen Jahren saniert, dies betraf bis zur Erstellung des Videos die komplette Infrastruktur. Erst wenige Tage vor den Filmaufnahmen wurde die Komplettstrecke zwischen Baščaršija und Ilidža wieder für den Straßenbahnverkehr freigegeben.
Allerdings wurde in der vergangenen Zeit bereits ein Großteil des Fuhrparks verschrottet um Platz für die inzwischen in Auslieferung stehende neue Niederflurgeneration zu schaffen. Bisher prägten die alten Tatra K2, KT8D5, sowie Duwag GT8 das Stadtbild, bevor sich auch dieser Anblick ändern wird, sollte mit den Altbauwagen nocheinmal dieser Film entstehen, welcher von Ost nach West sortiert ist.
Aufgrund von Wagenmangel konnte zum Besuchszeitpunkt allerdings nur die Linie 3 auf der Komplettstrecke betrieben werden, die Verstärkerlinien 2, 5 und 6 wurden durch Busse ersetzt. Der kurze Linienast zum Bahnhof (Linie 1 und 4) befand sich damals noch in Rekonstruktion.

Tram services resumed in Sarajevo on Monday (25/9) for the first time in almost six months. The official operation of the trams signals the beginning of a return to normality in the Bosnian capital, after months of shelling and sniping. The trams, which have been considered an unofficial sign of peace in Sarajevo, began ferrying people between two of the city's main suburbs. They have yet to run into the centre of the capital because of the risk that they would be prime targets for snipers still operating in the area. In addition, some tramlines remain damaged from the fighting.

Tram services started up again in Sarajevo on Monday (22/8) after a 17-day suspension because of persistent Bosnian Serb sniper fire which killed one passenger and wounded 20. U.N. security teams in armoured vehicles deployed in force along the main boulevard where the orange trams roll between the centre of the Bosnian capital and western suburbs.

The Sarajevo tram network is one of Europe's oldest,having originally served as the test line for Vienna's trams. As of 2010, the Sarajevo tram system consists of seven lines, primarily running along a single track route. The system is 22.9 kilometres (14.2 mi) long; this includes a 0.4 kilometres (0.25 mi)-long branch to the city's main railway station (Željeznička Stanica). It primarily serves as an east-west link from the city centre (Baščaršija) to the western suburb of Ilidža.
