Salon, pohled dozadu
A very small part of the interior has also been preserved in almost its original condition. Two screens have been installed, where visitors can watch old films and slides about the coast.
The photo was taken at the tourist information office in Middelkerke, where a section of the tram is preserved.

Kabina
The photo was taken at the rear of the remains of this tram, which can be found in the tourist information office in Middelkerke.
The driver’s cab is prominently featured in the picture, as are the two screens, on which historical films and slides are shown continuously to visitors. Among other things, historical footage of trams is shown, as can be seen on the left.

The photo is far from ideal, but still interesting: on the left, the 6039 awaiting demolition, in the middle the 6152 and in the background the Ghent tram 6339. I was unfortunately never able to shoot a nice line-up with these 3 types of vehicles.

The tram disappeared finally in 1958, but it's still possible to see the route in 2022.

The tram was abandoned here in 1958. 64 years later, you can still clearly see where the tracks were located, but probably not for long: the entire district is being given a new function and in the background, not only construction is taking place, but also the street has been completely modernised.

Car traffic was not yet permitted at the time of taking photos. Cars would therefore not be able to obstruct the photographer. A cleaning machine did, although it did illustrate exactly what was going on: the road was cleared after a violent storm.

Sand is an ever-present problem for the coastline. The operator therefore has the necessary equipment to regularly clean up sand accumulations. The gripper is specially equipped to fit into the track.
