To this day the historic fleet is split between the history park and the VTA depot, with ostensible holiday trolley service in downtown. But it was cancelled at least one year due to a volunteer shortage

It kept getting delayed. Supposedly this year.. but only the first phase, which doesn’t get to downtown honolulu.

Georgetown, Guyana had a proper electric tram system, previously missing from this website.

The database is incomplete: I gave it my best shot, but this vehicle has numbers that conflict with each other.

Ex-Tokyo Metro trainsets were transferred to Jakarta for use in the commuter train system, which has had major overhauls and modernisation in recent years.

Quote (Ymtram (Yury LRTA), 31.07.2022):
> 4th car

I am pretty sure the Key system only ran 3 cars of articulated units at a time after looking at a lot of old footage, pictures, they were only stored in this way when they were out of service.

This page just says they were up to 3
http://moderntransit.org/ctc/ctc03.html

This one depicts a 3 car train in the images

Even if it may have been technically possible, they would have almost never been operated that way. And only 4 survive today.

Thanks: the VTA light rail trams are only 90 feet each. So the long bridge units were an interesting mix with the street traffic and street grid. The portland light rail is hemmed in by a small street grid, and not allowed to block perpendicular traffic, but I am not sure if people cared back then.

I will let you know if I see 4 cars.

Those key system bridge units were frankly massive, Comparable to a two section articulated LRV from today minus the doors. I never saw an exact figure for the length. (Also they were coupled up to 3? 4?)

> In this regard, the light rail in San Jose is more appealing than Sacramento, with its mix of all kinds of colours, unmaintained vehicles, etc.

I agree, they use the older fleet of VTA trams as well, and no level boarding. I cannot offer much more other than say that as a local you experience things very differently

> I must admit, however, that I looked for cosy places in the city centre

San Pedro Market Square is the place for this. But it's true that the downtown suffers: the paseo de san antonio became basically abandoned a few years ago and the average street has some cool restaurants but not much life. In the hotel lobbies and convention center it is usually empty except for special events a few times a year, and then it can be very lively (the plaza de cesar chavez as well). Other than that your best bet is just to look at the architecture, I believe I read somewhere that San José has the 75th largest downtown in the country despite the 10th largest city population (or something like that)

> I was also in San Jose in 1999 and photographed a museum tram in the city.

The historic trams used to operate basically all the time in the city center before being relegated to seasonal service (which got skipped at least one year)

Lol. I live here and it is fascinating reading all these comments. I must say, I even never went to this museum (only the park) since the hours are so limited and I never scheduled a visit.

Photography is normally only allowed at the tunnel entrance, this is an exception because it is an official photo from the Republic of Korea.

First route of trolleybuses in all of Japan, it connected Hanayashiki 花屋敷 (closed railway station between Kawanishinoseguchi and Hibarigaoka-Hanayashiki stations) with New Hanayashiki 新花屋敷 at the top of the hill. It was tourist oriented and only ran for a few years, closing because of the depression. According to the japanese wikipedia, trolleybuses were considered in a few other cities but never built. This was the only trolleybus system missing from the website because it is a little obscure.
