The 500 class cars were modeled after the ex-Tokyo Toden 7000 class.
Electrical equipment is licensed by Decker Works of the United Kingdom.
Remodeled by Naniwa Kōki in 1969.

At the time of publishing cars of the 500 class were practically retired. 501 became the only preserved car in the 500 class (with the exception of the lawnmower-sprinkler car 512).
