Chronology

28.10.2020 On 28 October 2020, the Meciyeköy — Mahmutbey section of the M7 metro line (Kabataş — Esenyurt) was opened. Trains started to run with passangers at 12 o'clock.
15 new stations were opened. The line is 18 km long. The total travel time will be 32 minutes between the end stations.
The first 10 days ride will be free of charge. The line connects six districts of Istanbul, where 3 million people live. Time intervals are 6 or 7,5 minutes.
The fleet consists of 80 4-car Hyundai Rotem driveless trains. The trains are served in the new Tekstilkent — Giyimkent depot.
11.09.2020 On the 11th of September due to M9 line integration and M1 line capacity enhancement works Yenibosna, World Trade Centre (DTM) and Atatürk Airport stations will be closed. Services on M1A will be provided between Yenikapı and Ataköy-Şirinevler.
From Ataköy-Şirinevler station to Atatürk Havalimanı (Atatürk Airport) will run İETT shuttles free of charge with stops near closed stations.
When the M9 line (İkitelli Sanayi — Ataköy) integration works are completed, comfortable and fast transfer will be provided between the lines. Line M9 is planned to be partially opened in 2021.
Opening date of these stations isn't reported.

23.07.2020 According to the decision, made by Istanbul mayor, from 8:00 p. m. July, 23 trams on T1 line (Kabataş — Bağcılar) will only operate between Kabataş — Eminönü and Bağcılar — Beyazıt stations.
The decision was made due to the fact that the streets near the stations of Beyazıt — Eminönü part of T1 line will be completely closed for traffic because of the opening of Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque.
T1 line will start to operate as usual at 6:00 a. m. of July, 27.
06.07.2020 T3 nostalgic tram line, which was closed during the coronavirus pandemic, begins to operate with passengers on the 6th of July.
During the time when the line was closed, old tracks were replaced with new ones. The wagons were repaired for the first time since April 2013.
The livery of the wagons was changed, too. Now you can see titles İstanbul Senin (Istanbul is yours) on it.
