Just a few months later 887 was sent to Szeged for overhaul and SzKT decided to swap with their own 9-138. This original 887 was scrapped in Szeged, while the overhauled 9-138 became the new 887(II), serving at BKV until 2008.

By the way, it is only a (small) selection of what I own and then photographed. I've more photos of the regular Konstal 805NA trams. I shared now the lesser-known 803N here, but this does give a false impression, as I photographed only 4 or 5 of them.

The venerable Łęgnowo suburban line with the best photo opportunities in the city looks especially authentic with the classic Konstal 803N tram. Thanks for the photos.

It is somewhat unusual to see trams on Line 9 on the Łęgnowo line in all of your photos, which was a supplementary peak hour service. Did Line 9 operate as often as Line 6 at the time?

Today, only a facade of building to the right is left.

I would attribute this ‘coincidence’ to a good eye of an avid photographer. If you were to make a photo of this segment of the line that conveys the surrounding area character, you would really want a combination of the old house and a smokestack in the background. This precise location is the perfect point to combine both. So we have two photographers looking for the best photo opportunities, an naturally selecting the ideal spot.

After all, you wouldn’t doubt why both photographers chose the following same famous spot, but the rationale is very similar:

What a coincidence... You could never know that I made this photo and was going to share it here (this all happens randomly) and I really couldn't know that many years later you were going to take a similar photo at the same spot - without trams.

Sorry to piggyback on the subject, but I was preparing some select material from my recent trip to the former DDR territory, so I decided to go ahead with a few photos from Plauen of my own.

The new gallery 'Line to Unterer Bahnhof (Closed 30.03.2007)' has been created.

The famous tramway S-curve shot in Plauen. Nothing changed in this neighborhood since, except that KT4D trams don't sound original anymore :( Here is the same view last month:

I corrected the location: the driver had forgotten to change the destination and was already on his way back towards Ostend or Westende. The Zwarte Kiezel turning loop is visible in the background, where the tram is coming from. There are many such places near Den Haan (and Bredene). Whether it is possible also depends on the height of the vegetation. It has been raining almost continuously for the past few months, this may cause plants and branches to be much too high or large.

The 1082 was certainly (for a short time) used in passenger service: it carries Romanian advertising. https://transphoto.org/photo/1934632/
The situation then was very complex. The quality of local trams was more than questionable. Second-hand trams were then donated from Germany, but then other problems arose: neither the workshop staff nor the drivers had any knowledge of these trams. Tatras may be excellent trams, but it's important to know how to handle them, as driver and technician, and this was certainly not the case in the beginning.
Some trams were effectively sent for spare parts, others became it very quickly after accidents and breakdowns. I still have a lot of photos of this city and plenty of Tatras, which I believe never entered service, or barely ran.

Do you know if these trams were delivered just as spare parts source?

Otherwise I do not see any sense of paying for delivery of scrap metal 1150 km away
