Все новые электробусы BYD K9MD-ER простаивают уже более трёх недель. Причина доподлинно неизвестна, однако многие винят в этом холодную ночь с 6 на 7 января. Температура тогда опустилась до 6 градусов тепла, что для Лос-Анджелеса довольно мало. С тех пор на линии J работают исключительно Nabi 45C CNG, которые Metro как раз и обещали заменить на электробусы к концу 2025 года.

This photo captures a major embarrassment for BYD and Metro. All of the brand-new BYD K9MD-ER electric buses have been sitting idle for over three weeks. While the exact reason remains unconfirmed, many are pointing fingers at the freezing night between January 6th and 7th. Temperatures dipped to 43°F—quite a chill for Los Angeles. Since then, the J Line has been running exclusively on NABI 45C CNG buses, the very ones Metro promised to replace with electrics by the end of 2025.

​And here's the spot where they hide the new electric buses! This row is filled with units that, for various reasons, haven't been officially accepted into the fleet and are waiting for either the issues/deficiencies to be fixed or for final certification.

В этот раз в парке меня ждало несколько сюрпризов. Первый из которых, это старенький GM Old Look с б/н 5193, который, по-видимому, куда-то выезжал, раз переместился сюда. И второй — BYD K11M №19000 на заднем плане. Очевидно, с ним что-то случилось, и он отставлен от работы.

I had a few surprises waiting for me at the bus depot this time. First up was an old GM Old Look with fleet number 5193. It looks like it was heading out somewhere since it had been moved to this spot. The second surprise was the BYD K11M, number 19000, in the background. Looks like something happened to it, and it's been taken out of service.
