Chronology

30.05.1938 Streetcars are for the last time used in passenger service. On Memorial Day several cars provide special service between Sandusky and Oakland Cemetery.
25.05.1938 Soldiers Home line in Sandusky, the last rail service of the Lake Shore Electric, is converted to bus.
14.05.1938 Last day of the interurban service on the Lake Shore Electric. Cleveland–Toledo line, Fremont–Bellevue–Ceylon Junction (Norwalk) shuttles and Gibsonburg branch are converted to bus the following day.
13.05.1938 Norwalk local service is discontinued.
15.11.1937 Fremont–Ceylon Junction (Norwalk) line is split into two shuttles terminating at Bellevue due to underpass construction at Main Street.
